What I Thought About iRobot Movie

In the current era of globalization, technology is constantly growing, perhaps many question about how this world later with growing technology, many ideas and creative design appear on it.

If we examine carefully technology has changed rapidly in developed countries in the past 10 years, although it has been researched and developed long time ago, and “funny” to see that, as if human can’t live without technology, especially in developing countries.

Perhaps the question about how the world of the future with more advanced technology, can we see through the movie “iRobot” starring Will Smith as the main actor. With Chicago city as the background in 2035, the city describing about how technology in the future and honestly makes me impressed. But one thing the most important as the message in the movie is people don’t consider about the negative side of advanced technology which is where all human life depends on technology.

The movie opened my mind that human life can’t be separated from technology, because in essence technology created and developed for the welfare of human life, because technology help human in all areas activity even hard work. But what must realized is when technology constantly growing as well human life become more depends on technology, and this has become reality and dilemmas in developing countries even in developed countries.

Something that I got from that movie is technology exist and was created for human, so it must use wisely, as stated by my lecturer in Human Computer Interaction courses that "don’t be a loser of technology”. The reality is technology available today is the result of research and development undertaken by developed countries, but more popular and used by people in developing countries, and this should we anticipate, it doesn’t mean we reject the technology, but we must see and consider whether our nation both in terms of culture and other aspects were ready to accept the existing technology?, and why we always be the consumers with best-selling title thus became a target for the world market, I believe this country also able to develop such technology, and that the question for us.

Many lesson we can learn from that movie, but again the most important is “use technology wisely and don’t be a loser of technology”, hopefully this article is helpful for all, the film teaches us first  advance to anticipate the flow of technology especially the negative effect of growing technology, not only fall asleep with the convenience provided by technology.
